Jeez, almost August!

Journal Entry: Sun Jul 20, 2008, 5:30 PM
  • Mood: Zest
  • Listening to: a/c blasting through the vents
  • Reading: Salt
  • Watching: Escape from New York
  • Playing: Nothing right now
  • Eating: bread
  • Drinking: Tonic water
As usual, I delayed writing any journal entries until I had something to write about. ... and July's almost over! First, at the prodding of another very talented deviant I posted a couple photos I shot at sunrise and sunset at the Altamont Pass in Northern California. A really peaceful place to visit, I'll certainly miss it. But, I think the sunsets are better in Maryland. :)

I've unpacked most of my junk and am pretty well settled into my new home and job. I've met all my nearest neighbors and they're a really great group so far. Now I just need to explore more of the local area to find more sights to shoot. So much to do, so little time...

I drove up to Allentown, PA a couple weekends ago to see an exhibition with work by :iconsilverystars:, :iconmjranum: and three other photographers who do a lot of classical nude photography. The drive was a little long (3+ hours), but Allentown was nice enough (has a great brewery!), and the photography on exhibit was just fantastic. I may drive up to Frederick for another exhibit there soon.

In other news, I've FINALLY gotten through all of the art posted while I was moving cross country and away from my computer for a month or so. Now, maybe I can get around to putting more work up. ;) Till next time, Cheers!

It's a wonderful photo--you'd never guess he's quick to claw, he looks so sweet. :) I'm very much a cat person, and would love to have more, but not sure if I want to deal with getting another and acclimatizing it to the two I already have.
Hi,
Mondy's a girl, and she's very sweet, but since she was born outdoors and raised without any human interaction until she decided, completely on her own, to move into the house with us, she's very skittish when it comes to dealing with us large bipeds. She only has one response, which is to hiss and claw when upset, but she's getting a lot better with time, so hopefully one of these days she'll realize we're not too bad and stop the occasional bloodletting :o)

This may be asking a lot, but have you thought about trimming her front claws? That way she'd still be able to climb things outside, but if she swipes at you it won't hurt. Just need some welder's gloves...

I must say, it really irks me that so many people don't spay or neuter their cats. I've no problem with cats living in the wild, except so many die horrible deaths (disease, being eaten or torn apart by dogs, beaten by people or run over...). As a Grade A Cat Lover, I feel terrible when ever I read about or see something bad happen to my favorite animal. :( It's great to see that you're willing to take some in and help them.
Soooo, what's the message here? You have the patience to spend HOURS to get the right photo of a bird, but you can't sit still while two chihuahuas shriek "Thank YOU!" for a few minutes? I'm very disappointed. :P
 But, but, there was no pay off coming at the end of it!
Well, you'll never know, will you?

 Now I'm curious.
Let me know when you get to a million. :D
